Minority status - Commission enforces rules
KOZHIKODE Member of the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions Sister Jessy Kurian has reportedly said the minority status given to some educational institutions is with certain conditions and if there is violation of any of the conditions, the status will be withdrawn.
She had discussions with heads of educational institutions run by minorities in Kozhikode on Sunday. Sr. Jessy said the focus was with regard to the government violation of the rights of minority educational institutions. Issues regarding capitation fee and denying admission to minority communities in education institutions were not under the purview of the Commission.
